I grew up on a rural blueberry farm on the outskirts of Florida’s capital city of Tallahassee. I gravitated toward all creative things related to film, music, art, astronomy, writing, and travel. I invented and patented a pool toy at the age of 16 after graduating high school early, won awards at two film festivals in 2012 and 2013, helped establish numerous local Tallahassee restaurants and bars, and served as the operations manager on four major political campaigns in Florida. I currently moonlight as the synthwave musical artist “Astrovette” while completing my academic endeavors.
My travels have taken me from Florida to New York City, Montreal, Seattle, London, and San Francisco, and finally back home– where I have worked as a barista, copywriter, filmmaker, painter, bartender, social media manager, operations director, and public relations practitioner.
I currently live with my wife and infant son in Tallahassee while completing my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in public relations and mass communications at the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications. I aspire to help our society solve the problems we face through better communication in a time of divisive political partisanship.
